A second pair of my Rallying Cry mini collection is in the beautiful 2022 page-a-day shoe calendar. The Body, a pair of galoshes boots, was inspired by the expressive art of African masks.
This piece was created for a boot exhibition in Holon, Israel in 2021. It comes to life through a play on volume and proportions. These simplify and exaggerate the shape of the leg, intentionally ignoring the idealized, western notion of the female body.
