This design is part of a mini-collection exploring the Displacement of Form, an intentional shift of traditional footwear elements to build a new architectural vocabulary. These designs challenge our perceptions of balance and proportion through redistributing the visual weight of the shoe.
In this third pair, displacement is explored by carving out the center of a traditional wedge. This geometric window disrupts the expected heaviness of the form, altering the visual weight of the shoe. By reducing the mass below, the design creates the space for an oversized upper silhouette. As the eye is drawn upward, it achieves a verticality that balances the architecture of the wedge and transforms solid volume into a dynamic statement.
