This This work explores the current craze for blown-up, puffy fashion. Clean lines have been replaced by playful, bulky silhouettes. Given the uncertainty of the past few years, it is perhaps not surprising that we are seeing over-the-top, inflated garments everywhere.

We can all use a bit of absurdly padded fun at the moment. Or are we actually craving the warm, protective embrace it offers? Either way, it seems we want to escape our current reality. With escapism in mind, this footwear playfully alters familiar lines, distorting volume into whimsical proportions.

This design was awarded Winner in the Artistic Footwear category by the Global Footwear Awards 2023.
